What v1.0.38 adds and changes
Snaga’s Lightning Chain event and Journal entry
Added an event and Journal entry for obtaining the Inherited Skill “Snaga’s Lightning Chain.”
This is a new story event that guides players toward obtaining the Snaga’s Lightning Chain inherited skill. The skill has been referenced in community discussions as a sought-after ability. Players had reported difficulty finding the correct path or trigger for this skill. v1.0.38 addresses this by adding a dedicated event and corresponding Journal entry that tracks progress toward obtaining the skill.
The Snaga’s Lightning Chain is an inherited skill that requires the Silver Chain to unlock. Players need to use the Silver Chain to dash through orbs and then press the appropriate button to trigger the lightning effect. The Silver Chain is obtained in the Aphotic Marsh region added in Version 1.0.
For more details on skill acquisition, see the Aphotic Marsh map page and the Engraved Skills ability guide.
Mana retention on revival
Mana is now retained upon revival instead of being reset after death.
Previously, when a player died and revived, their mana would be reset to zero. This change ensures that mana is preserved through the death and revival process, improving the flow of combat and reducing frustration for players who died with significant mana pools. This is particularly impactful during boss fights where mana management is critical.
Combat resource persistence on game restart
All combat resources are now retained when restarting the game instead of being reset.
This quality-of-life improvement means that when you exit and relaunch the game, your mana, health items, and other combat resources remain exactly as they were. Previously, restarting the game would reset these resources, forcing players to farm or backtrack before continuing their session. This change respects player time and makes short play sessions more enjoyable.
This applies to:
- Mana
- Health items and consumables
- Quest-related resources
- Any other combat-affecting items
Ending credits skip and fast-forward
Added fast-forward and skip options throughout the ending credits.
Players can now fast-forward through the ending credits by holding a button, or skip them entirely. This is a highly requested quality-of-life feature for players who have completed the game multiple times or want to return to a New Game Plus immediately. The feature works throughout all credit sequences, including any epilogue content.
See Endings for more information on the ending structure and New Game Plus for details on NG+ progression.
What v1.0.38 improves
Shop item descriptions
Functional descriptions have been added to items sold in shops. Players can now see exactly what each item does before purchasing, reducing confusion and improving the shopping experience. This addresses a common pain point where players had to buy items to understand their effects.
Claw Tree guide
Instructions on how to use Snaga’s Lightning Chain have been added to the Claw Tree guide. This ensures players have clear guidance on how to activate and use the skill after obtaining it through the new event.
Shop adjustments
Price and purchase conditions for some shop items have been adjusted. This balances the in-game economy and ensures shop items are appropriately accessible at different progression points.
What v1.0.38 does not change
This is a quality-of-life and content hotfix. It does not:
- Add new regions, bosses, or areas
- Change game balance, damage values, or enemy health
- Modify the Steam Deck Verified status
- Alter the four launch regions from Version 1.0
After v1.0.38
This hotfix addresses community feedback from the first weeks after launch. The Snaga’s Lightning Chain addition completes a skill that players had been requesting since Early Access. The resource persistence improvements significantly enhance the quality of life for both new players and veterans doing multiple playthroughs.
